Europe Day: Celebrating Unity and Inclusion
Europe Day, celebrated annually on May 9, is a symbol of peace and unity. This year, our organization, the "Coalition for Independent Living," once again took part in the festivities.
During the event, Giorgi Dznelezde, Chairman of the Coalition, addressed the audience, highlighting the rights and challenges faced by persons with disabilities in Georgia. He also emphasized the role of the European Union and the U.S. in promoting inclusive policies and supporting dignified, independent living for people with disabilities.
Visitors to our booth had the opportunity to: Experience firsthand the impact of physical barriers; Test assistive technologies and devices; Participate in a sensory game, where they had to identify different food products using only touch and smell.
A special highlight was the strategic game of Boccia, which brought participants together, fostering teamwork and mutual understanding—even among complete strangers.
The "Coalition for Independent Living" thanks everyone who joined us on this important day. We believe such initiatives create a platform for building an inclusive society, where independent living is recognized as a fundamental right—not a privilege.
