On May 3–4, the organization "Coalition for Independent Living" conducted two one-day training sessions as part of the project “Support the inclusion of disadvantaged youth in Imereti region.” Young participants from various municipalities across Imereti received essential information on the importance of civic engagement, advocacy, and participation in decision-making processes.
The goal of the training was to enhance young people's knowledge and skills in civic engagement, public advocacy, and the use of consultative mechanisms. The program covered the fundamentals of advocacy, key stages of planning an advocacy campaign, and discussion of best practices, among other topics.
The sessions were led by lawyer Daviti Bibileishvili, and the event was organized in partnership with the Academy for International Education and Development.
The project aims to mobilize young people in the Imereti region and support their engagement in democratic and social life. Expected outcomes include mobilizing young people and enhancing their skills in participation and decision-making processes, as well as developing initiatives related to local budget programs.
Activity is organized by the Coalition for Independent Living, with the support of the ‘EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’ project, co-financed by the European Union and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
